Meet the plants:
Nettle: A vibrant medicinal that grows abundantly in our coastal landscape. We gather fresh, tender tops in early spring. Nettle’s nourishing actions are associated with their rich vitamin, mineral, amino acid, and chlorophyll content. Nettles contain calcium, silica, magnesium, iron, and vitamins A, C, E, and K. Nettles nourish & purify blood, support detox, and their rich nutrition help soothe fatigue. Nettles act as a tonic to build reserves when one feels weak, overworked, and depleted.
Calendula: Soft, soothing and deeply nourishing. When used internally, calendula is a lymphagogue, cleansing the lymph system by moving clogged lymph fluid, removing toxins from the lymph, and decongesting swollen lymph nodes. Keeping the lymph system is moving and functioning as intended is vital for a strong immune system. Calendula's slight bitter taste stimulates the liver, supporting digestion, enzyme secretion, and nutrient assimulation. Their mucilage content is deeply soothing to irrittated tissues, especially mucous membranes.
Cleavers: A springtime darlling that will cling like velcro to your clothing. Cleavers helps clear and cleanse the water element of the body, such as the kidneys, lymph, urinary tract, and bladder. Cleavers help move lymphatic congestion that can manifest as swollen glands, underarm odor, and problematic skin conditions.
